Handmade from concrete and speckled with aggregate, these two chunky bookends are as sturdy as they are stylish. Whether you’re housing heavy hardcovers or a stack of slim reads, they’re up for the job. Plus, the suede bases—cut from leather offcuts—protect your shelves from any scratches, so you can stack with confidence.

The History
These Artefacts began life as concrete engineering trophies awarded to Ant's workplace in Auckland, which is currently moving offices. The office was this close to tossing them into the skip, along with a tonne of other rubbish...but the potential in these was seen at the last minute, and the trophies were rescued.

Originally awarded for the concrete behind the construction of Auckland's Waterview Tunnel, we’ve repurposed these trophies by removing the plaques, polishing them up, and giving them a whole new chapter. Still strong, still local, and now ready to live on your bookshelf.
