Marketing - but not as we know it
Earlier this year we were talking about whether we should do a market. We had never done one before, so naturally we thought we'd try our luck at the biggest (scariest) one we could find.
Months of anxious procastination later, we were gearing up for the General Collective Life & Design Market at the Auckland Showgrounds for the very first time and as you can imagine, excitement, nerves and sheer exhaustion were at a record high.
Setting up our stall from scratch was no easy feat, but we put our student loans to work, designing a simple but beautiful draped cloth backdrop that would stand out in all the right ways and later take over the entire apartment. We also wanted to get some new product released - so after 2 weeks of late nights we finally found ourselves market-ready.
The day of the markets was a whirlwind to say the least. Initially we would have said this was a bit of a ballsy move from us, but in hindsight we're wishing we had done it earlier. It's such a fun experience meeting new customers face-to-face as well as having our friends come to support us.
Beyond our own stall, we loved the camaraderie with the other vendors. We made a video about the whole experience over on Instagram.
Without stating the obvious, we're already looking forward to our next market so stay tuned and join our mailing list for updates on our next appearance.
